Environments that are obvious
Each environment has its own color, variables, default headers and auth. The tab always shows which one it uses, and protected environments ask before every write.
HTTPrism is a fast, portable HTTP client for Windows, macOS and Linux. It's a single executable with no installer and no account. Everything it stores sits in one folder right next to it.
Built for people who send a lot of requests to a lot of environments: APIs, FHIR servers, and everything else that talks HTTP.
Each environment has its own color, variables, default headers and auth. The tab always shows which one it uses, and protected environments ask before every write.
Use {{name}} in the URL, headers, body and auth. Session variables work across environments, and dynamic ones such as {{$uuid}} or {{$isoDate:-7d}} are computed when you send.
Right-click any JSON value to save it as a variable, or let extract rules (JSON path, header, regex, status) pass tokens and IDs on to the next request.
Client credentials, password and authorization code with PKCE. Tokens are cached, refreshed and encrypted. On a 401 you get a fresh token and a resend in one click.
Filter large responses with paths like $.entry[*].resource.id, including recursive descent and filter expressions. Fold, search and copy the result.
Paste a curl command into the URL bar to import it. Copy any request as cURL or PowerShell with all variables resolved. Import and export .http files.
Cookies from logins and redirects are stored and sent again with the usual domain, path, Secure and expiry rules, kept separately for each environment.
A command palette, URL suggestions from history and saved requests, a {{ variable picker, and a shortcut for nearly everything.
Every saved request is one JSON file, easy to diff and back up. Open tabs survive restarts, and deleted items go to a trash folder instead of being destroyed.
Every tab picks its environment in a fixed order, and the result is always visible as a color stripe on the tab and a bar above the URL.
Variables are substituted only when you send, so your templates stay untouched on disk. Auth defaults to Inherit, so new tabs pick up the environment's credentials automatically.
Run one request against another environment with Ctrl Shift E, leaving everything else as it is.
Each environment is also the folder for its requests, and a saved request always runs with that environment. Drag it to another one to switch.
The pill in the top bar (Ctrl E, Alt 1…9). Every unsaved tab follows it.
Set an optional password on first start and every credential is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, using a key derived via PBKDF2-SHA256 with 600,000 iterations.
Authorization and CookiePut HTTPrism on a USB stick, in a synced folder or in a repository. Everything it needs is in one folder beside the executable, in readable files.
